ABSTRACT:With the development of science and technology, small carrying-capacity urban rail transit system is becoming increasingly popular in megalopolis and become a powerful supplement of subway and ground transportation system. But our conutry’s urban public transport is in the mode dominating by the small carrying-capacity ground transportation and mass carrying-capacity urban rail transit. This mode is not comprehensive, the medium carrying-capacity public transport system and small carrying-capacity public transport system of high quality are missing. Facing various medium or small carrying-capacity urban rail transit system mode, how to choose the system mode suited to the characteristics of the city itself is a difficult problem in front of decision makers. To solve this problem, this thesis carries out research on the selection of medium or small carrying-capacity urban rail transit system mode.This thesis first expoud of the necessity for large and medium-sized city to develop medium or small carrying-capacity urban rail transit, analysis the application cases, summarize the application experience and analysis and summary the function of medium or small carrying-capacity urban rail transit system.Then the thesis conduct a study of seven kinds of medium or small carrying-capacity urban rail transit system mode:metro system (C type vehicle), linear metro system, in the low speed magley system,automatic guideway transit system, monorail system, line rail system and the modern trolley system. System.Based on the research and analysis of the development situation, the application situation and technical characteristics at home and abroad, the paper applies conbined model on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)-Grey Relational Analysis method to establishe a comprehensive decision model on the system mode of medium or small carrying-capacity urban rail transit. This model analysis the system mode from five angles:planning, construction, operation, passengers and the society, use analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine the index weight, use Grey Relational Analysis method to evaluate the alternative system mode and get the commendatory system mode in the end.The research outcomes of this paper are inspected by taking the urban rail transit Yuquan Road line of Beijing as an example. Satisfactory result is obtained, which proves the feasibility of the method.
