With the acceleration of urbanization in China,land for urban traffic problem is increasingly serious.The construction of a good urban public transport system has become an important measure to enhance the urban carrying capacity,improve the level of public services,alleviate traffic congestion and improve the urban environment.As an important component of urban public transport system,the new medium carrying-capacity rail transit,especially the modern tram and monorail,has not been widely applied in China,study its adaptability and application method in urban traffic,will be of great significant for the development of urban public transport.This thesis sum up the medium carrying-capacity rail transit relevant characteristics,which are based on researches by domestic and foreign scholars,and collections of the medium carrying-capacity rail transit which had been operated.Specifically,first it describes applications and researches current situation of medium carrying-capacity rail transit as well as its functions in urban multi-level traffic system.Then,the technical and economic characteristics of five kinds of medium carrying-capacity urban rail transit,such as modern trams,straddle-type monorail,suspended monorail,APM system and medium-speed maglev train,which are widely used,are summarized in detail.On this basis,this paper uses AHP,entropy weight method and improved TOPSIS method to constructs the evaluation model of medium carrying-capacity rail transit system.From the performance,construction,operation and social influence to investigate each medium carryingcapacity rail transit system.This thesis uses the AHP and entropy weight method to assignment with both objective and subjective method for each index system.After that,it uses the improved TOPSIS method which based on Euclid distance and gray correlation grade to evaluate the merits of alternatives.Finally,the research outcomes of this paper are inspected by taking the urban rail transit line 1 of Yan'an as an example.It is concluded that Yan'an Rail Transit Line 1 is suitable for straddle-type monorail system by taking relevant data into account.The results are in line with the actual conditions of Yan'an Rail Transit line 1.
