Power loss of electric power system is a key technical-economical index ofpower supply enterprise, theoretical calculation of electric energy loss is importantto verify electric power system planning、operation mode、network technologyreform and equipment maintenance. In electric power enterprises, main measures toreduce power loss include optimize the operation of power grids、enhance theeconomic operation of power grids、accelerate the reform of power grids andreinforce the management of line loss. Through optimize the operation of powergrids, we can use high voltage in big cities or load centers, which can reduce powertransfer using low voltage and long distance. In this way, power loss will bedecrease. Through enhance the economic operation of power grids, we can optimizereactive power loss and satisfy constraint conditions for control variables and statevariables at the same time. OPF method is an effective way to optimize power loss.In this paper, we use these two methods to analysis the power loss of HebeiSouthern Electric Power Network.This paper based on the Hebei Southern Electric Power Network power lossmanagement and aided analysis system, analyze the power loss calculation resultsof typical day throughout the year based on the calculation of real-time data, mainlyinclude the analyze of theoretical power loss in typical day throughout the grid、analyze the power loss calculation result of220kV power grid、analyze of maininfluence factors。Then, pointing out exiting problems in Hebei Southern ElectricPower Network and giving some suggestions to reduce power loss according toanalysis result.For regional power grid, this paper use PSASP software to establish networkmodel of regional power grid based on real data obtained from EMS system. Then using power flow calculation module and optimal power flow module to changeactive power and reactive power of generator,the objective function is to minimizepower loss. First of all, adjusting reactive power of generator to optimize reactivepower flow. Then, Adjusting active power based on optimized reactive power flow.After calculation, find optimized active and reactive power of generator. The aim isto get a better power flow distribution and a lower power loss.For distribution power network, Single phase power supply system usingsingle-phase distribution transformer as a power source. In this way,10kVmedium-voltage line can connect to load centre directly, shorten power supplyradius can be shortened and power loss of distribution network can be reduced. Thispaper calculates the power loss and investment in equipments of a real urbanresidential area in power distribution mode of single-phase and three-phaserespectively. The single-phase power distribution mode can effectively reduce thedistribution loss due to high voltage line getting deep into the load.
