The mine pneumatic auxiliary transport vehicles play an important role in the coal mine auxiliary transportation due to their advantages, such as flexibility, convenience and versatility. The development of technology directly determines the production capacity and efficiency of the mine. At present, most of trackless rubber tire vehicles are driven by pneumatic motor, but it is found that the work efficiency of pneumatic motor is low and the output torque is small during the process of test analysis. When the motor deflates, and pressure reducing valves do not normally work because of the decrease of temperature. And therefore, it is necessary to design a new kind of driving unit with high efficiency, safety and steady.This paper proposes a rotary mechanism and the compressed air acts as working medium based on overrunning clutch and double gear rack as the power plant of mine pneumatic auxiliary transport vehicle which is driven by cylinder. The basic energy conversion system through the analysis of its structure of functional requirements is concluded. The pneumatic control system and mechanical drive system of this mechanism have been designed in this paper, and the mechanism has the smooth high torque and energy utilization through the theoretical calculation analysis of working principle.The process of work for gas is studied under constant temperature state and under adiabatic conditions, respectively. It is found that the working efficiency of pneumatic motor depends on the expansion work of compressed gas, and the obtained expansion work of the gas can maximize under the constant temperature condition through the theoretical calculation of rotary mechanism driven by cylinder. The nonlinear mathematical model of this mechanism has been established based on the laws of thermo dynamics, the energy equation of gas, mechanical unit mass flow equation and movement equation. The virtual model of AMESim has been built to simulation research on the parameter affecting the main performance of motor. The work movement characteristics of the new type of pneumatic motor have been concluded.Finally, a set of rotary mechanism driven by cylinder suitable for three-wheeled cycle has been made on the basis of the theoretical analysis and simulation research. A pneumatic tricycle has been converted and experimented successfully. The result has verified the characteristics of high efficiency, safety, environmental protection of rotary mechanism driven by cylinder.
