Since direct-driven permanent magnet wind turbine has high reliability, low failure rate,no excitation system and gear transmission structure,easy maintenance, longer life expectancyand so on, all those advantages make direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine the mostefficient models in currently. In addition, its has simple structure and good manufacturingprocess.As a new Altemating Current to Altemating Current converter, matrix converter(MC)has the a lot advantages, such as the flows in both directions, achieve four-quadrant operation;no need energy storage components and so on. The deficiencies of traditional AltematingCurrent to Altemating Current converter converters are solved and made up by the proposedof MC.In view of the special structure and excellent performance of MC, it is combined withdirect-driven permanent magnet wind turbine in this article, research the related modulationstrategies and control methods. The main contents are as follows:(1) Introduces the background and significance of the dissertation. Explain theadvantages of direct-driven permanent magnet wind turbine and MC in wind powergeneration after comparison.(2) The dissertation makes the theoretical derivation and analysis of the topology andbasic principles of MC and the fundamental of the commutation control of the bidirectionalswitch. Comparative study the two-step commutation strategy and four-step commutationstrategy.(3) Comparative study of MC modulation strategy, the indirect space vector modulationis selected in this article.The mathematical model of MC is established after the indirect spacevector modulation strategy. The simulation model of MC is established in Matlab software,analysis the input and output characteristics of MC. Simulation results show that the MC withexcellent performance.(4) The mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous generator is built in athree-phase stationary coordinate system. The mathematical model in the two-phase rotatingcoordinate system is obtained by Parker transformation. Analyze the related function ofpermanent magnet synchronous generator in a two-phase rotating coordinate system. Usingpermanent magnet flux-oriented vector control strategies, build the simulation model of MCand permanent magnet direct-driven wind power system in Matlab. In the power generationstate, simulation waveform verifies that the system can achieve decoupling control of activeand reactive power, and has good stability.Simulation results show that the MC direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous wind power generation system is a better way to wind power,and has good performance.
