Urban rail transit a large-scale public transport, which has large capacity and highefficiency. Recently, it has been popularized in major cities all over the country andconstructing and planning urban rail transit has been considered as one of the most importantmeasures to solve increasing traffic problem. However, large range of rail transit construction,long period of construction, huge human, financial and material resources and high standardof urban road network would result in great pressure on city transport especially for old urbanareas during the constructions. The whole transport system would be paralyzed if lack ofrational and effective organization. This dissertation is for MC in transportation engineering,focusing on engineering application. As a result, this dissertation aims at applying theoreticalknowledge into practical design plan. Based on the combination of traffic engineering, urbantransportation planning, transportation facilities designing and urban rail transit and otherdisciplines in the transportation fields, this dissertation puts theoretical knowledge intopractice in the project of designing traffic organization of Lanzhou rail transit line1(Dongfanghong Squire station).First of all, this dissertation makes a detailed research on different classification of railtransit construction environment. Different construction environment may have directinfluence on the rationality of the project designing traffic organization. It is necessary tocollect and process a great number of basic data in the process of analyzing the constructionenvironment. The majority of these data are used as essential data in the following project. Secondly, this dissertation also concentrates on the study of construction method of rail transit.It is well acknowledged that different construction methods need different construction periodand exert diverse effects and ranges. Consequently, the choice of construction method shouldbe taken into consideration in the project of designing traffic organization. Additionally, roadtraffic condition needs to be considered as a basic prerequisite in the project designing oftraffic organization. As a consequence, professional forecast of traffic volume duringconstruction period is of great importance. In this dissertation, background OD matrixcalculation method, one of the common calculation methods in China, is applied to achievebasic background OD data by calculating current background OD. After that, though theforecast of all the basic OD data by using TransCAD, the current background OD will befound. Finally this data will be reallocated on new road network in order to get the predictingcapacity.First of all, this article researchs the classification of the different constructionenvironment from the construction environment of rail transit detailedly. The differentconstruction environment directly affects the construction organization plan that if it isreasonable, and when analysing the study of construction environment needs to collect andorganize a large number of data, these basic data will be the source of the later period project;Second, studying construction method of rail transit, different construction methods needdifferent time, and the traffic impact field and scope is different, as the saying goes,"sharpen don’t miss your job", so the choice of construction methods is appropriate the importantpremise of traffic organization plan formulation; Again, the drafting of the traffic organizationscheme of rail construction period need to during the construction of road traffic status as abasic premise, so for the forecast of traffic volume during construction must be professional,in this paper, the background of the domestic common OD matrix calculation method for thebackground OD the status quo, after using traffic simulation software TransCAD forecast ofbackground OD calculated the traffic OD during railway construction, the final distributionnetwork in prediction on real road network saturation.Finally, based on theoretical foundation, this dissertation explores how to apply theory inthe engineering practice by discussing project of designing traffic organization of Lanzhourail transit line1(Dongfanghong Squire station). In the first place, identifying the range ofimpact during the construction, organizing the main road and intersection, and investigatingthe influence scope of all the road network and intersection are completed to calculate thecurrent and future road network capacity. By adding one-way traffic, road distributaries andrelevant codes of road design on the basis of achieved statistics, the roads and intersectionsare redesigned. Thus, it provides vital road conditions for formulating schemes for dredgingsocial and public transportation. In the end, Vissim is applied to give comprehensiveassessment to various traffic indexes in the project of traffic organization and provide decisionmakers with relevant advises for consideration.
