As an irreplaceable part of life, the research of alternating current speed regulationsystem is vitally significant for energy saving as well as improvement of electric energy. For anew type of converter, matrix converter has many good properties, such as sinusoidal of inputand output characteristics, adjustable power factor, energy of two-way circulation, fourquadrant operation, freedom of control degree, etc.Matrix converter is used in the direct torque control speed regulation system ofpermanent magnet synchronous motor in this thesis. The main contents are follows:(1) The structure and operating principle of permanent magnet synchronous motor areanalyzed. According to the mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor andthe principle of transformation of coordinates, the computational formulas of flux linkage andtorque of permanent magnet synchronous motor under αβ coordinate are obtained.(2) The theory of direct torque control is argued. The simulation model of direct torquecontrol speed regulation system of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on traditionalconverter is set up. Then the sub modules used to the simulation are introduced. According tochanging input conditions, different simulation results are extracted. The results indicate thatthe direct torque control speed regulation system of permanent magnet synchronous motor hasgood speed regulation performance. The basic argument for follow work is provided.(3) On the one hand, the typical topological structure and operating principle ofthree-phase to three-phase matrix converter are analyzed. On the other hand, revivification ofspace vector is presented. This method aims at reducing calculated quantity in double spacevector modulation process. Then the improved modulation algorithm is verified in matlab.(4) The matrix converter is applied to direct torque control speed regulation system ofPMSM. On the basis of traditional direct torque control system, the theory of this speedregulation system is analyzed. Simulation results based on simulation software manifest thatthe new speed regulation system is valid and practical.(5) The results are compared between matrix converter driven speed regulation systemand traditional speed regulation system. The outcome indicates that the speed controlperformance of matrix converter driven speed regulation system is better than the traditionalone. Furthermore, the matrix converter driven system has a better power factor as well as thedynamic and static performance.
