Rotary drilling rig is a drilling operation of modern large-scale machinery and equipment for the foundation, there is a huge energy loss on the main hoist lift and decentralization process in rotary drilling rig.In this paper, in order to reduce energy loss of winch without large cost, conduct research in terms of design, control methods, parameters matching and testing on a real rotary drill rig named SWDM-28. The results effectively reducing the winch power consumption, to provide a reference for energy-saving study on some other mechanical engineering. The main contents of this paper are:(1) For the high energy consumption and low utilization of energy on rotary drilling rig hoisting, a lot of test has been conducted and analyzed, we made a conclusion that the energy loss can be divided into two categories:the hydraulic system pressure loss and drill gravitational potential energy loss.(2) According to the pressure loss theory of viscous fluid and operating principle of winch, proposed a pressure loss optimization of the winch hydraulic system.Due to the law of conservation of energy, established a mathematical model of the load hoist decentralization, devolution obtained with the displacement variation of potential energy, energy recovery is proposed based on this overall goal. Comparative analysis of the pros and cons of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic energy storage system, proposed potential energy recovery and utilization scheme based accumulator.(3) Based on the differential Equations and principle of continuity equations, the mathematical model and simulation model for each sub-component system were built. To control the stability and energy efficiency targets, a new winch motor control strategy based on a constant PID, and a recovery system parameter were matched.(4) For the optimization of the pressure loss, simulation results showed that the three optimization programs did not affect the reliability of the system, and effectively reduced system power output. For the potential energy recovery and utilization optimization, simulation verified the feasibility of the control strategy and parameter matching. The potential energy recovery system has the characteristics of high energy-saving rate and small displacement error.(5) Finally, based on SWDM-28rotary drilling rig winch system, experimental researches were engaged. Experimental results verified the feasibility of the optimization program.In a word, this paper made optimization of winch from two aspects such as the hydraulic system pressure loss and potential energy.The energy-saving effect was remarkable for improving the design of rotary drilling rig main winch system provides appropriate guidance.
