Electric power industry is the basic industry and public utilities to support thedevelopment of the economic and social. Along with the rapid development of ournational economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, the dependence onelectric power is higher and higher. In this context, as the pillar of our national economy,electric power industry has maintained a rapid development momentum in the past fewdecades. With the expansion of power grid construction scale, the construction oftransmission and substation engineering is imperative. Because it can lay a solidfoundation for the safe and stable operation and through the peak smoothly of the grid.Power transmission and substation engineering construction is the foundation of electricpower, and the safe and successful completion impact directly the the development ofthe electric power industry. But now there are many factors influencing the electricpower transmission and transformation project safety. They bring the safety risk for theconstruction and lead to the project not completed on time. Nowadays the riskmanagement of our national electric power transmission and transformation project hasbeen valued, but compared with the practices and norms of international engineeringproject management practices, the gap between international and our country is huge,soexploring the methods of safety risk is imperative.Ba Wu II500KV transmission line project has not only the generality of otherconstruction engineerings, but also the particularity of itself. When we appraise thesafety of Ba Wu II500KV transmission line project we should pay attention to thegenerality and the particularity and should not apply mechanically. Owing to theparticularity of Ba Wu II500KV transmission line project,the traditional methods ofsecurity risk assessment has limitation. Based on and set Ba Wu II500KV transmissionline project as an example, this paper build safety risk evaluation index system for Ba WuII500KV transmission line project through analyzing the safety risk factors, adopt thefuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and hierarchy analysis method to make ascientific evaluation on safety risk, and finally, analysis the evaluation result, so as toprovide theoretical guidance for Ba Wu II500KV transmission line project’s securityrisk management and provide reference for the same power transmission and substation engineerings.
