The garden is an imaginative creation in reality, a "magic is the true " feature, is theideal Paradise for people to pursue and performance.The myths and legends about thepursuit of the ideal residence, is the mysterious fantasy about heaven.Since the emergence ofmankind, life is full of fierce competition and challenges, human beings must have to workhard to adapt, select and transform the environment.This kind of environment instinctiveselection, and finally evolved into the human psychological preference for a particular ideallandscape structure.On the one hand, people through some literature and mythology toconstruct God wonderland, put forward their views on the ideal model;The other hand,according to these patterns,people be hard to find the place in nature, to design and build awide variety of gardens to realize their ideals.Using the typology and pattern language as theories and comparison and analysis asmethods, the paper points out the space structure features of basic unites in the classicalChinese and West gardens based on the ideal space structures for human beings in the myths,sums up the4modes of ideal space in the world and their space structure modes:“+”、“onemountains in a pool”、“three islands in a pool”、and “circle and opening”, analyses thereasons for the structure differences between the classical Chinese gardens and Westgardens, figure outs the designing principles and means for the complicated space structurein the classical Chinese garden.
