Research Of Yan’s Garden In Suzhou Mudu

Classical Gardens of Suzhou are China’s cultural history scroll with its colorful andvibrant character, it records significant ideas at that period, including men of letters, richbusinessmen’s and bureaucrats’ideals and spirit of the home, which with a strongsouthern customs. As a northern origin architecture students, the culture of Suzhouclassical gardens conveyed by the delicate and fresh views are worthy to appreciate, thespatial organization and design of the law it embodies need to study Current researchworks of Suzhou classical gardens exist a lot, but mostly these works are studied fromthe area of classical gardens of literature, history, garden biography,garden culture, andgarden elements such as the angle of its research practice, only few of these studies arein the views of deep degree of spatial organization. The author re-understand theclassical gardens of Suzhou design ideas and gardening practices from the perspectiveof architectural space design, expecting to help and inspire people who are going tostudy the designing ways of Suzhou classical gardens.Related to the design of spatial organization of the classical gardens of Suzhou, itneeds the author to refine the consisting elements of Suzhou classical gardens from therich and complex designing character which they own." In this paper through the use ofArchitectural Typology,the author is going to research and analyse the Mudu Yan’sGarden to a certain degree, the author attempts to summarize the perspective MuduYan’s Garden owns on the road of designing.As a research method to study the Suzhouclassical gardens, Building Typology rarely appeared in studying the Chineseclassical gardens, so the author combine Building Typology and the study of MuduYan’s Garden,and this practice would approve the applying of Building Typology instudying Chinese classical gardens.Mudu Yan’s Garden is selected in this paper as a typical case to study,the context is based on large numbers of documents and field survey, then through the use of BuildingTypology and the study of spatial consisting elements of Mudu Yan’s Garden, thenanalyse,study,classify each spatial element,and summarize them theoretically and at lastraise the author’s view. The main contents and conclusions are as follows: Through thestudy of the theory of architectural typology, the author summarize architecturaltypology research methods to guide the structure and analysis of ideas during lateranalysis; From the history of Suzhou classical gardens and the current study to Suzhouclassical gardens; the author would make a comprehensive research to Yan’s Garden inSuzhou Mudu status, and classify each system after extensive research of modeling andanalysis; Then study and summarize space design the conclusions and feelings aboutSuzhou classical gardens through the use of Construction Typology theory.
