The climate of Wuhan city is complex and the vehicles are overloaded, theexpressway and arterial asphalt pavement that have been built were seriously damaged.And in recent years, Wuhan is in the important period of traffic upgrade andtransformation, how to improve the performance in this important period, and try toavoid the happening of pavement structure diseases, reduce the traffic jams caused byroad maintenance, prolong the service life of road become a problem to be urgentlysolved. Given this, this paper introduced into the concept of long-life asphalt pavement,and combined with large stone porous asphalt mixes pavement material, throughtheoretical analysis, structure calculation and laboratory test to study combined baselong-life pavement structure.The design objectives and allowable values of long-life asphalt pavement weredetermined. Divided the dedected mode of asphalt pavement into two categoriesaccording to the different road damage, on the basis of design objectives research athome and abroad, selection design objectives with the dedected mode, and determine theallowable values of the design.Long-life pavement structure design of Wuhan expressway and arterial road wasinitially proposed. Combined with the environment characteristics of Wuhan, consideringthe drainage and resistance to the reflection crack problem that existed in commonsemi-rigid base asphalt pavements, used large stone porous asphalt mixes as flexible baseand initially proposed long-life pavement structure.The force condition and road performance of pavement material of the combinedbase long-life asphalt pavement were analyzed. Based on the elastic layer system theory,through the finite element analysis software to simulate the road structure that initiallyproposed, analyzed the influence of differert structure layer thickness on combined baselong-life pavement structure’s stress, and recommend the road structure of Wuhan long-life pavement; through laboratory test, the large stone porous asphalt mixespavement material gradation design has completed and the optimal asphalt content wasdetermined, and the pavement performance of road-building material has been analyzed.
