Cultural relics are the precious wealth of all humanity. But there are lots of damagedrecords under larger earthquakes. With the development of the modern seismic isolationtechnology, since the beginning of1990’s, American, Japan successively put forwardreduce isolation technology in seismic protection of cultural relics. Studies on seismicprotection of cultural relics in China started after the Tangshan earthquake in1976. In thefield of cultural relics preservation, the Palace Museam as the excellent representative haspopular taken on traditional protective measures such as “Clip.Bolt.Sticky.Contourmounts” into seismic protections of the cultural relics. However, lots seismic damagefacts of the cultural relics show that the traditional protection methods do not provideadequate safety insurance for the cultural relics in the Wenchuan earthquake in2008.After that, managers and researchers pay attention to the seismic protection of culturalrelics again. But confined to various reasons, the application and study of modernisolation methods, seismic isolation technology in numerous nationally principal museumin our country is lagging behind the developed country such as Japan obviously. Thereare of importation theoretical significance and practical value in research on base-isolation of the seismic protection for cultural relics in our country.Set seismic protection of the cultural relics in-place exhibition in the Palace Museunas the goal.To deal with this situation, this thesis has studied on the isolation platform formovable objects in a museum. Starting from the isolation theory,then the numericalsimulation has been made and confirm the validity of isolation platform work by theShock-table test, after all above, study the impact of the design parameters and actualworking state to the damping efficiency of the isolation platform.This paper mainlycompleted the following works:1) According to the seismic damage records, we summarise the destruction typesof the cultural relics by earthquake, analyses the traditional seismic protection measuresand the development status of foreign seismic protection technology in seismic protectionof cultural relics. This paper summarizes commonly used seismic base-isolationtechnology briefly, studied the basic principles of mechanical rolling isolation works.After then, we make the simulation analysis for the finite element of mechanical rollerisolation numerical.2) Referenced to the results of the numerical simulation, we use the commonisolation technology, and consider the actual space, design two different Self trigger rolling isolation platform, which can be used for the situation of unilateral or bilateralspace limited. Unidirectional seismic action and three seismic action have been taken bythe shaking table for the situation that cultural relics in-place exhibition to verify greatisolation ability of the isolators.3) We compared the numerical simulation results and the experimental results,demonstrated the rationality of theoretical derivation. The systematic discussions of theimpact of curvature, roller radius, friction coefficient to the damping efficiency weretaken for this kinds isolation platform.At last, the recommended design parameters forthe isolation platform were presented.
