Research On Landscape Architecture Construction Of Coal Mining Wasteland At Huashidao Village In Beijing

The large-scale coal mining brings the abandoned land, which is called coalmining wasteland. It is one of the most representative type of industrial wasteland.With the development of the global economic slowdown, the human society enteredthe post-industrial era, as a result, a series of negative images and problems stand out.For many coal mining city, the coal resources are exhausting and the mining areagradually are losing production function and economic value, while the perennialindustrial operation has brought serious threat and destruction to the naturalenvironment, ecosystem and landscape resources, and produced some social problems.At the moment, the landscape architecture in coal mining wasteland became necessaryand effective means for renovation and transformation.This paper started from Beijing Huashidao Coal Mining Wasteland Projectlandscape renovation project and leaded to research questions. It pointed out thatthe landscape on coal mining wasteland could not only serve people surrounding thereand get into the environment, but also inherit industrial history and cultural.What more, this kind of landscape had the features of natural landscape. Theauthor analysised the actual cases at home and abroad while briefed thedevelopment process of landscape construction on coal mining wasteland. Thesediscussions summed up that traditional western industrial countries focused onshaping the cultural landscape, while we tended to interpret the naturallandscape. The author discussed the function, aesthetic, creating principlesand methods based on landscape architecture according to the analysis resultsof the casesabove. The author also proposed innovative ideas to create thelandscape on coal mining wasteland, which included paying attention to theparticipation of surrounding people, establishing philosophies of inheritingindustrial history and regional cultural, using techniques to unite the culturallandscape and the natural landscape.Based on the research results above, this paper carried out planning anddesign from both of inheriting industrial history and regional cultural andcontinuing surrounding natural landscape, according to the practical researchof Beijing Talc Road Mine Wasteland Project landscape renovation project, andinterpreting the surrounding environment and its own characteristics. So that the abandoned sites could become a kind of landscape which could servicesurrounding crowd. Finally, the author tried to look forward to the landscapeconstruction on coal mining wasteland in China, and provide references for furtherstudy and practice.
