Smart Grid has been a forward direction and priorities of the power industry. Inpromoting the continuous development of the grid size and the overall planning of thesmart grid, smart substation in the future will become the mainstream of the newsubstation. IEC61850standard is the most perfect communication standard in the currentelectric power system automation,the standard is designed to promote interoperabilitybetween the device, through standardization of equipment, to realize the seamlessconnection of the system. in addition, the extensibility and the futureoriented openness ofof IEC61850standard make it has the incomparable superiority to other communicationprotocols. IEC61850standard is one of the most core of standard in the development ofsmart grid Intelligent substation construction is the foundation of the smart grid. Smartsubstation is a substation of the development trend of the future, and therefore it has a veryimportant significance for the study of intelligent substation.Firstly, this paper starting from the concept and characteristics of intelligentsubstation, carried on the comparative study of the difference between the intelligentsubstation and digital substation. According to intelligent substation "three-two networks"structure and technical requirements of each part of the smart substation, put forward thesubstation architecture based on standard IEC61850standard, and on the basis ofunderstanding the layered modeling ideas of IEC61850, established the informationmodel of transformer protection device, including the logical nodes and data modeling,logical device modeling and communication service modeling, and with c#asobject-oriented modeling tool, achieved model transformation from information model tothe data model.Secondly,proposed substation site commissioning of intelligent design, systemconfiguration and system configuration function tests were part of the focus of discussion.Analysis and Intelligent substation operation and maintenance have also made a detailedexposition. According to this study CaoZhuang Intelligent Substation110kV powertransmission project example, the smart substation site commissioning program, run analysis, maintenance of specific content management were analyzed. In the debuggingsection for AC circuit, the circuit breaker operation, isolating switches and interlock circuit,signal circuit and other circuits, non-power protection protective function, such as AC andDC circuit insulation resistance test carried out tests to ensure a good equipment, accuratetest data accuracy.
