As we all know good indoor natural ventilation can not only create a comfortableindoor environment, but also can effectively reduce indoor energy consumption of airconditioning. Because of shortage and expensive of land,pursuit of profit maximizationand other factorsin the modern development of urban housing, the current residentialconstruction is often pursuit of high density and high volume rate, formatting designtrendsof a large depthin high-rise residential design. The large depth often makes a largenumber of residential apartment buildings with single-sided natural ventilation capacity,which makes the problem of poor indoor natural ventilation increasingly serious.Poorindoor ventilation will not only lead to indoor low air quality which isbad to human health,but also greatly increased energy consumption of air conditioning in residential building.This article chooses residential units of L-shaped ventilating as a case study, and does anumber of studies to improve its problem and proposed several design strategies toimprove its unilateral ventilation.This article introduces present situation of one side ventilating residentthroughliterature survey and fieldwork and further explain the universality of unilateral ventilationresidential and the necessity of research on the field based on the simulation verificationof the measured data. Getting average airvelocityand ratio of air velocity and area throughCFD numerical analysis method to measure the effect of the room ventilated, this paperresearches how building towards, plane form, ledger wall and changing of bay windowaffect unilateral ventilation through comparative analysis, and concludes the optimaldesign strategy.In the study of building towards, when the dominant wind direction is SE,better building towards is SSW, S and SE orderly. Appropriate to improve theconstruction model of projection distance, selects appropriate bay windows form and themain bedroom and subaltern roombay window can also promote the L-shaped unilateralventilation.Finally, the paper summarizes the entire research and prospect, and points outthe lack of research and the direction of future research.
