As non-standard special machine, the design of the non-standard leak detectionequipment is difficult for the various DUTs. And increasingly diverse customerdemands make it more difficult to respond quickly to the changing market. Besides,Small batches and even single customized result in high costs. In this paper, modulardesign and mass customization are introduced to the design and production ofnon-standard leak detection equipment to study the application of mass customizationplatform of non-standard leak detection equipment based on module technology. Bymeans of planning product family and building parametric module library, achieve theseamless integration of mother model storage, parameter driving, BOM outputting,Toolbox and other subsystems with the platform based on PDM. So we can design thenon-standard leak detection equipment by mass customization on the platform. Themain aspects are as follows:Systematically study the non-standard equipment and leak detection equipment.Then a detailed study on theory of the modular design is done. The characteristics ofmodular mechanical product and virtual flexible module are pointed out.Study the theory of mass customization and its application on non-standardequipment, and propose the general design process of non-standard leak detectionequipment. The study on customer demands modeling points out the correspondencebetween the customer groups and the product family. And on this basis, the productfamily of the non-standard leak detection equipment is planned, so is its codingsystem in line with corporate standards.The module library building and configuration setting are studied with theexample of the main frame module and its upper board of KCA. After introducing thetheory of finite element analysis, the structure of upper board of specification1350*730is improved by SolidWorks Simulation.Detailedly study the implementation of the modular design platform based on theintegration of CAD and PDM, especially the related subsystems. Finally, the fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method is used to evaluate the realized degree of thisplatform.The platform built in this paper combines module technology and masscustomization. It has a comparative obvious effect on optimizing the design process, improving the utilization of resources and shortening the design and production cycletime of the non-standard leak detection equipment. Besides, it also has somereferential significance for the study and application of similar platforms.
