As increases in current international oil prices are sustained,internal combustionengine driven equipment costs continue to rise.With the worsening state of theenvironment, the government’s environmental policies and regulations areincreasingly stringent.Energy saving and environmental protection is not only thedemand of sustainable development strategy,but also the urgent demand of terminaloperator and port machinery manufacturers.Rubber tyred container gantry crane isthe mainly handling equipment in the specialized container terminal yard,its largeenergy consumption is a prominent problem in terminal operation.So the research anddevelopment of energy saving,high efficiency,environmental protection containercrane has important economic and social benefits.This paper,rubber tyred containergantry crane as the research object,carries on the design to the application of hybridpower system in container crane,and test its performance.Firstly,this paper introduced the work characteristics of traditional rubber tyredcontainer gantry crane,analysed the energy transfer and loss of crane workingmechanism in the operation process,described the energy-saving mechanism ofrubber tyred container crane mounted with supercapacitor hybrid powersystem.Secondly designed the control method of hybrid power system,introduced theprinciple of switching control method in the process of mechanism rise and fallrespectively.And then the detail design of hardware and architecture in the hybridpower system is presented.Gave analysis and calculation of supercapacitor energystorage device’s configuration.The bi-directional DC-DC converter and its circuitdesign were discussed.The detail hardware and software design of PLC programcontrol system is presented.Finaly,hybrid power system experiment results on thismachine were analysed.Experiments indicate that the RTG equipped with supercapacitor work reliably,system control strategies are feasible.Compared with former model,oil consumptionof this RTG move down and it take great economy benefit....
