Aluminum foil blister packaging is often used in the troche and capsule, sealingability is an important factor for guaranteeing its quality. The aluminum foil blistersealing leakage defect is difficult to visually observed, it decreases the effect ofproducts shelf life, even do harm to the customers’ health. That show the necessity ofair leakage detection. But the current leakage detections technology for blisterpackaging suffer from the waste of the products, inefficient work and low automationlevel,those can’t meet the demands of development of society. For this purpose, it isimperative to develop an intelligent device for the tightness detection of the blisterpackaging, which is nondestructive testing,high efficiency and intelligent detection.An intelligent device have been developed. The primary hardware of this deviceconcludes laser displacement transducer, data acquisition card and PC. The softwaredevelopment platform is based on the mixed programming between LabVIEW andMATLAB. The device not only has favorable interface, but also featuresnondestructive testing, high efficiency and intelligent detection.The necessity of air leakage detection and the shortage of the traditionaldetection technology have been analyzed, and we developed an intelligent device forthe tightness detection of the blister packaging. The main research contents are givenas follows:(1) A leak detection based on the principle of the differential pressure anddisplacement method theoretically is designed. A simple test device to demonstratethe feasibility in theory and testing is builded.(2) According to the characteristics of the inspected products, we have designedschemes of the automatic test device, mainly including the design of the hardware, thesoftware of the system and interfaces, etc.(3) In order to obtain the necessary vacuum environment, we have designed thevacuum system, also finished the design of automation, which control the vacuumpump and reversing valves, etc.(4) The laser-measuring system have been designed, which mainly consists of a laser displacement sensor, a data acquisition card and a computer, completed thestructure of the two-coordinate worktable and the automatic control system.(5) The MATLAB is embedded seamlessly into LabVIEW, it deal with theoriginal acquisition of data, such as, data segmentation, smoothing and featureextraction, etc. The calculation results can be intuitively returned to the LabVIEW inthe Boolean data type, and show on the front panel by Boolean display controls.(6) We do the experiments by tiny pinprick, and do a large number of trials totest the veracity of the results.
