The smart grid became a trend in worldwide power grid development. Through thesensors and measuring devices, it can accommodate different forms of electricitygeneration, distributed power access in order to advanced superiority of equipment.The use of integrated optimization algorithm the decision-making system in smartgrid helps us achieve the grid reliable, safe, economical, efficient andenvironmentally friendly operation. As a fundamental part of the smart grid, and theintelligent substation is inseparable to the smart grid. Forwarding higher requirementsfor high-voltage substation to control online, to improve control requirements is theimportant way to achieve not only in the new-building intelligent substation, but alsoin the traditional ones. this kind of reform is what we focus and concern in recent.This paper studies the reform of regular substation to the intelligent substation,through the installation of smart intelligent components, thereby improving the way oftraditional substation’s automation.This paper begins with describing the structure and development of intelligentsubstation, introduced the definition and application to gradually leading researchfocus. Through the study of the installation of intelligent components main IED, toachieve the transformation of traditional substation, with the use of “intelligentcomponents+regular transformer” or “intelligent components+regular breaker”. Icould collect the device status, summary and preliminary analysis. Using real-timedatabase technology, the data collected to group intelligent components, to achievecentralized monitoring data, and provides significant difference analysis, threemethods for monitoring the ratio of auxiliary data analysis. Then this paper analyzedthe economic benefits of this transformation with the specific case of intelligenttransformation in tianjin, to proving this study is an economical and effective way toachieve high-voltage substation by installing smart components. This paper laid afoundation for future exploration intelligent transformation of regular substation, andprovide some technical support.
