The smart grid is the development trend of power system, the automation ofpower system is the core of smart grid. Dispatching automation systems is importantin automatic power system, which can effectively realize power dispatching and offerhigh quality electric energy. So it is of vital importance for maintaining the safe,stable and high quality operation of power equipment. The south grid in Tianjin is animportant part of Tianjin power grid, the realization of dispatching automation insouth grid is important for power supply in south area.This paper analyses the dispatching situation at home and abroad, and studies thedispatching automation systems in the south grid according to the specific situation ofsouth grid.First, analyses the current situation of south grid, including property andoperation. Results show that there exist some problems, such as, heavy task aboutpower cut, more failures and lack of staff. So, this paper gives the necessity ofapplying dispatching automation and the expect purpose in south grid.Then, the requirements of dispatching automation in south grid is givenaccording to the demand of dispatching automation, including reports,"four remote"feature, graphics, accident alarm, breakdown dispose and functional requirements ofAVC. The OPEN3000is chosen as dispatching automation system, and it is proved tosatisfy the requirements.Last, AVC is analyzed according to the characteristics of south grid, which is animportant function of OPEN3000. AVC can be used to realize closed-loop control ofvoltage and optimize the voltage curve, which is important to dispatching automationsystems.Through the above studies, we find that there are still more function inOPEN3000to be explored, which we will do in the future.
