The Research On Ship Form Design Based On The Industrial Design Thought And Method

This paper mainly focuses on the design of ship from the thought and method ofindustrial design based on the current situation of ship design in China. In this paper,we mainly studied the problems such as ways to promote ship design and the designmethods in accordance with the design trend in ship industry, and proposed the basicrules of ship design styling to provide guidance in practices.Firstly, based on Industrial Design, the paper analyzed and classified theelements in ship design, and categorized them into four groups, includingsuperstructure, on deck equipment, cabinet and others. Secondly, the author furtherstudied the constraints, basic rules and methods in ship design, proposed the mainpurposes of ship design, and divided the main purposes into five standards fromindustrial design point of view: indentifiability, transivity, artistry, experiences andeconomy. Then the author studied the ways of implementing each standard, anddeduced the basic design principles that best satisfy the development of ship design.Finally, based on the research result, the author proposed the stylized as the ship formdesign higher goal, and analyzed the stylize’s basic ideas, methods and principles inthe research of ship design styling based on the Industrial Design.
