The Desigh And Research For Community Elderly Day Care Center

China has entered the aging society, according to the characteristics of aging—alarge population base, the deep-rooted traditional view of pension, and the weakeconomic foundation etc., the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs issued a newmodel of adult care services—"9064", emphasizing the importance of communityendowment, that by2020there will be more than90%of the elderly through thevarious services provided by the community to spend their twilight years.However, the current status of our communities still can not meet the needs ofhome-based care, we need to build a community living services supporting system, inwhich the Community Adult Day Care Centre targeted semi-disabled and semi-dementia elderly is one of the most important ring.The recent introduction of the "Endowment Facilities Specialized Planning inBeijing" has also proposed that setting up a Day Care Center in each community. Yetthe study specifically aimed at Day Care Centers in China are still lacking either intheory or in practice, the corresponding standards and regulations are not perfect, wehave the urgent need to enrich the academic research in this area, explore an approachof designing for Day Care Center in line with China’s national conditions.Based on this topic, this paper carried out the research, as the research andscholarly context path mainly done the following work: sorting out the relevant theoryand practice at home and abroad, targeting Beijing as the research region, usingquestionnaires and interviews conducted an investigation from two aspects ofinstitutional endowment and community endowment. Institutional endowment: in themacro grasp the overall situation of endowment service facilities in Beijing, selectseveral typical endowment service facilities, from the space allocation, servicemanagement and other aspects carried out the detailed field investigation, summarizesthe problems of the status, as resolve issues of Community Day Care Center.Community endowment: investigated some day care centers in Beijing, and researchthe needs of elderly in community service, summed up the insufficient of endowmentfacilities status and needs of elderly people in Community Day Care Center, in orderto design in a targeted manner.In the full data support, referring to the pioneer research and the case of DayCare Centers from abroad, this paper attempt to put forward the key points in designing the Community Day Care Center, and put forward the design mode of thesystem of activities and corresponding spatial patterns.
