With the globalization of manufacturing, more than half of the refrigeration devices ofthe world are made in China and that will challenge later maintenance a lot. Currently, themaintenance for refrigeration equipment is divided into two styles, field maintenance and re-mote maintenance: in the case of broad area, field maintenance results in huge waste of hu-man and material resources threatening maintenance efficiency; the remote maintenance cannot adjust to all kinds of application environment, not support the whole process of equipmentmaintenance and lacks integration with enterprise management. Nevertheless, multi-stagemaintenance considers users, dealers and producers, divides maintenance into different levelsby incremental, so that maintenance resources are distributed well, and cost down while pro-ficiency up. According to the after-sales service needs of refrigeration devices of ZhongshanMeike Refrigeration Devices Co., this paper proposes a RFID (Radio Frequency Identifica-tion) based multi-stage maintenance system. It’s mainly about:Fault tree and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) method are used to analyzesingle-temperature refrigeration devices, build fault tree model and FMEA tables according tofive functions including refrigeration, defrosting, illumination, sterilization and defogging,combining the function method with the hardware method.Structure and function of online diagnosis point, offline diagnosis station and intelligentmaintenance center are discussed respectively: the online diagnosis point uses multi-sensortechnology to monitor devices for early warning; the offline diagnosis station relies on theFMEA table for machine halt; the intelligent maintenance center is responsible for intelligentproducing management and products optimization.Software and hardware of the system were fulfilled and tested. The system functionswell and distance, orientation performance of RFID module satisfies practical needs.Zhongshan Meike Refrigeration Devices Co. has finished tests indicating that it can promptmore efficiency, reduces costs and accomplish full-closed loop control of products.
