Hydraulic rock drill is a kind of rock drilling machinery whose piston is driven to impactthe drill rod by high pressure oil which is as the power. Because of its fast drilling speed, highefficiency and easy control, it is widely used in foundation construction of tunnel, exploration,mining, etc. The impact system is the key components of hydraulic rock drill, and itsperformance directly affects the working performance of hydraulic rock drill.In this paper, the impact system of hydraulic rock drill is regarded as the research object.Based on the theory of wave mechanics, the finite element theory, numerical simulationtechnology, and testing technology, dynamic characteristics analysis and experimentalresearch of impact system are carried out. The main research work are as follows:Based on the theory of wave mechanics, the structure and working principle of the valvetype hydraulic rock drill are analyzed, and the dual impact system wave mechanics model ofhydraulic rock drill which is composed of two elastic rods and spring is established. Thenumerical simulation program of hydraulic rock drill dual impact system is compiled, and theinfluence of piston geometric parameters, impact velocity on the working performance ofhydraulic rock drill is analyzed, and theoretical basis is provided for the structural design andoptimization of hydraulic rock drill impact components.Based on ideas of parametric modeling, the connection between Delphi and Matlab isestablished by the use of the ActiveX technology to achieve the data exchange, and thenumerical simulation software with good interface of dual impact system is developed, and aresearch platform is provided for the dynamic analysis and structure optimization design ofthe dual impact system.Based on the test technology and signal analysis, the stress wave testing platform ofhydraulic rock drill impact system is built, and the stress wave curves of the drill rod areobtained under different impact speeds, and experimental basis for dynamic theory analysisand numerical simulation of the impact system is provided.Based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA, the finite element model of hydraulic rock drill impactsystem is established, and the stress variation of impact components is analyzed, and themaximum stress in piston and drill rod under extreme working conditions is analyzed and thestrength is checked. The stress variation in piston and drill rod under different impact velocityof piston is analyzed.The basis is provided by the research presented in this paper for parameters design,structural design, optimization and energy efficiency assessment of the hydraulic rock drill. Itis significant to improve the working performance of hydraulic rock drill.
