As one of the most important service facilities in urban park,foodservice facility is a hot issue in nowadays. Based on theinvestigation, the foodservice facility of the urban park in Shanghai isselected to be the object of this study. With the method of data studies,field research, mathematical statistic, inductive deductive and graphicmethod, foodservice facilities’ basic characteristics, such as number,type, scale and location, are analyzed in various ways and find thecorrelation with urban park’s properties. According to the results ofanalysis conclusion, it predicts that whether there is a foodservicefacility in urban park by using the mathematical model based on BPneural network. This study aims at providing a train of thought andmethods, helping us solve the problem about urban park’s managementand design.Specifically, the main contents and conclusions of this researchcould be consisted of following aspects:(1)By on-the-spot investigation, there are158urban parks inShanghai, including30urban parks having56foodservice facilities.There are23investigated urban parks with41foodservice facilities. Inthese41foodservice facilities, there are13Lever-I foodservicefacilities,17Level-II foodservice facilities and11Level-IIIfoodservice facilities.(2)According to qualitative analysis, the number of the urbanpark’s foodservice facility has relationship with park’s properties, suchas construction age, style, land area, surrounding land property,location and the nature of jurisdiction. Also the type and position of the urban park’s foodservice facility has relationship with park’s style, location and surrounding land property.(3) According to quantitative analysis, the scale of the urban park’s foodservice facility has relationship with park’s gross area, land area ratio and gross building floor space. There is a linear regression relationship between restaurant building floor area(Y1), restaurant building area(Y2) and gross building floor space of the urban park(X): Y1=0.152X+85.620; Y2=0.307X+78.311。(4)According to the comparison of the food service facilities’ characteristics,13Lever-I foodservice facilities distribute in the park and the park’s corner, using the entrance of the park. So it’s convenient to have a view of the park. And17Lever-Ⅱ foodservice facilities distribute in the park, the park’s corner and park’s boundary, using the entrance of the park, private entrance and mixed entrance. So it’ll borrow some scenery of the park. And11Level-Ⅲ foodservice facilities distribute in the park’s boundary, using its private entrance. So it’s unable to borrow some scenery of the park.In theoretically, it is the first time to do the research about foodservice facility in urban park, in the aspect of its basic characteristics, which explores the internal law and relationship with the park’s property. In the method and technology, it introduces the mathematical analysis methods to the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the foodservice facilities’basic characteristics. By using Matlab2012a, this study prediction founded a mathematical model, which is based on the theory of BP neural network.Due to various types of urban parks, many aspects need to be studied.Because of the limited time and knowledge, this study doesn’t probe into some related fields. So it remains to be further studied later.
