Research Of Architectural Design Of Convention Center

Convention center is an important part of urban public facilities, it affects thecombination and development situations of various industries of the block where itlocates, for its particular fa ade, functions and the ratio of public participation. It evenaffects the external image of city and the social popularity in more geographic range.The interrelationships between the development situations of convention serviceindustry and convention centers architectural design are emphasized in this paper, theinitiation, developments and diversification achievements of convention serviceindustry are regarded as background of the analysis and discussion, in terms of wholeprocess includes the appearing, evolution and being professional of conventionconstruction history till now.The main contents of this paper include three parts: In part1, it researches theparticular events and typical convention facilities from the initiation to present ofconvention service industry history and their significances, according to thedevelopment history of convention associations in the Occident. It also analyses thesituation of the business diversification format of present convention centers, andclassifies convention centers into different types by business format and architecturalcomposition forms. In part2, it indicates the relationship between the types ofconvention centers and convention center general design, and describes the types,character, design date, function system of main rooms and other rooms in detail. Inpart3, it introduces what typical technology issues will be met during the process ofdesign stage and construction stage of convention centers, and indicates proven waysto deal with. Besides, the last chapter shows three research conclusions ofdevelopment of convention service industry and convention centers architecturaldesign, and looks to the future of them.
