Research On Architectural Design Of Exhibition Space In Convention And Exhibition Center

Developed from the early exhibition building, Convention and Exhibition Center is a new generation of building style that involves two main functions: exhibition space and convention space, between which the exhibition space has always been the most critical. Since the 80 s of the 20 th century, along with the outbreak development of economic globalization, Convention and exhibition economy realized leap-forward developments. Meanwhile, as the core functional carrier of contemporary Convention and exhibition economy, Convention and Exhibition Center reflects more obvious characteristics of the times both in terms of quantities and individual scale, namely scale expansion, function intensification and use multiplication.Compared to the active architectural designing practices of Convention and Exhibition Center, the systematic theoretical results has not been founded both at home and abroad,and which is especially obvious in China.Under the stimulation of economy development,a large amount of Convention and Exhibition Centers have been built in China since the end of the last century,behind which,however,is the relative lackness of related theoretical studies, especially the targeted researches of the exhibition space.Based on the background mentioned above, this paper carries on a study about the exhibition space of the Convention and Exhibition Center. Mainly focusing on the architectural designing of the indoor exhibition space(such as the overall size and individual spatial scale), this paper is to explore the developing characteristics of exhibition space.Taking the developing status and designing pracitcies of exhibition space as a starting point,this paper is to comb the existing theoretical results both at home and abroad and to analyze and summarize the relavent cases objectively and systematically.Through the above studies,this paper aims to sort out the regularity in architectural design of exhibition space in Convention and Exhibition Center, and finally come to the designing principles that might be of some guiding effects both for the following designing practices and the development of theoretical research in this field.
