The landscape of campus teaching area has significant importance to the whole environment in campus, which would help to create a distinctive campus image and conductive open space for teachers and students. Nowadays there is limited specific research on landscape of campus teaching area. Based on such background, the paper will aim at completing and enhancing the theory of campus planning and design through meticulous analysis of landscape in campus teaching area.The paper selected 11 campus in Nanjing Xianlin University Town as chosen objects to conduct such aspects as specific research on spatial structures, landscape sequence, terrain, road system, open space, plant landscape, buildings and environment furniture. The research is aimed at organizing landscape design in different types of campuses, and analyzing spatial characteristics of various types of space.Basing on the investigation and analysis, the paper leads to a fair conclusion that although the landscape of campus teaching area in Nanjing Xianlin University Town has underdone rational planning and design, there is still deficiency found in chosen campuses. The paper conducts a discussion on scale, characteristic, culture, planning and development, through which summarizes the successful experience and unsuccessful deficiency of landscape design of campus teaching area in Nanjing Xianlin University Town. In the and the paper proposes several suggestion to the deficiency above to make an improvement to campus landscape design. |
