There are many advantages of steel structure such as high speed of construction, superior seismic performance, renewable node and so on. And steel structure also has become the main form structure in public buildings, high-rise buildings and industrial buildings. In recent years, steel structures are developing rapidly in our country, however, currently most steel buildings in our country still have been built with the traditional beam-column connections according to statistics. In addition, the research of seism-resisted connections focus on traditional beam-column connections. Research on new seism-resisted connections is not adequate and research on widened beam flange connection is less more. Based on research at home and abroad, use ABAQUS to study seismic performance of widened beam flange connection in steel frame.finite element software Steel Frame node expansion force airfoil performance under simulated earthquake action research.The main works are as follows:① Introduce beam-column connection type and new ductile connection of steel frame to determine the type of research, while the seismic analysis methods are introduced, conduct low-reversed cyclic loading test on connections to simulate the impact of the earthquake. Select and group geometric model parameter of widened beam flange connection.② Utilize ABAQUS to do non-linear finite element analysis of the widened beam flange connections and study the seismic performance, particularly introduce the basic points and processes of establishing.③ Reference to the relevant researches, do cyclic displacement loading test on three groups of connections by the finite element method to study stress distribution, plastic hinge, hysteretic behavior, cumulative energy consumption, ultimate bearing capacity and ductility of connections.The conclusions are as follows:① For ordinary beam-column connection, maximum stress and plastic hinge joints occur in the connection, and collapse happens first in the connection with load increases.② Seismic performance of widened beam flange connection is better than ordinary connection. Seismic performance is improved as La,bwf,Lb increases. Its superior seismic performance; and with the expansion wing parameters (extended wing length), (extended wing width) and (extended wing arc length) were increased further enhanced seismic performance.③ Semi-rigid connection is better than rigid connection to improve the overall performance of component. So it can add high-strength bolt the to improve the overall performance.④ Compare seismic performance of widened beam flange connection and ordinary connection, widened beam flange connection in steel frame is a suggested alternative in some strong earthquake zones. It can effectively reduce the impact of disasters.
