Recently, with the enlargement of city-size,the problem of transportation is becoming more and more prominent and many cities have begun to develop URT (Urban Rail Transit) to ease the pressure brought by the problem of transportation. CBTC (communication based train control) systems with characteristics of safety, reliable and efficiency has become their first choice for the URTATCS(Urban Rail Transit Automatic Train Control System). The Automatic Train Protection system (ATP is a critical subsystem of the urban rail transit CBTC system, and it must comply with the fail-safe principle in the railway signal system. The on-board ATP associated with ZC (Zone Controller) completed many functions such as receiving and translating the speed and distance information, calculating speed protection curves, protecting train speed, measuring train location, switching drive mode, door supervision, barking assurance etc to in charge of the safe operation of trains. This thesis focuses on the on-board ATP system, expounded the ATP system composition and function, ATP speed protection principle, train dynamics model etc theories based on the CBTC system through studying to the organizational structure, functions and technical specifications of each module in real CBTC system applied in the subway lines, it was given the theoretical foundation for designing and completing the simulating vehicular system. The overall framework as well as the principle of the train control on board ATP simulation system is designed, and the function of each module are determined. The design and the simulation are based on studying the the CBTC system structure, especially according to combining the operations the real CBTC system applied in the subway lines. Through summarying and analyzing the domestic and foreign typical safe brake models, a mathematical and dynamical model for the speed-distance curve of ATP have been designed. Finally, according to display and analyze the results and effects of each syetem module, especially focusing on showing result of the ATP protection curves, temporary speed restriction order and the trains run spanned features to verify the feasibility of the on board ATP simulation system.
