The research object of this dissertation is the underlying data transmission network of the Dalian Maritime University full mission marine engine simulators. Due to the lack of underlying network management mechanism, when the underlying network breaks down or the communication network failures, the managers usually cannot find accuracy position of the faults and proactively identify problems that will affect the simulation results. As to deal with these problems, this thesis proposes to design the intelligent network management software. It can be used to effectively manage the underlying network and rationally allocate net resources.The paper studies the structure and characteristics of the full mission marine engine simulators, and then sets up the overall design goals of intelligent network management system. The net management system based on the SNMP management model is constructed in the paper. And the model is made certain improvements to adapt to special underlying network environment of the full mission marine engine simulator. The management software is installed between the upper simulation server layer and bottom data acquisition unit layer. It has the functions of real-time collection, analyzing running state information of managed devices, drawing topology map, monitoring local network device status and identifying faults. Then the results are timely feed backed to upper display interface of the intelligent network system.The network management system has been carried out on the Dalian Maritime University full mission marine engine simulators. It has already achieved the functions of automatic settings and addresses re-check. In addition some simple hardware failures of underlying network can be feed backed and adjusted. The system succeeds to reduce the degree of coupling between the servers and the underlying data acquisition and control unit.
