Research On Automatic Evaluation System Of BRM Based On Marine Simulator

In order to reduce the sea accidents caused by human factors,International Maritime Organization(IMO)decided to take the training of “Bridge Resource Management"(BRM)into the compulsory execution of part A in the STCW convention in 2010 and fully implements from2012.The BRM project is carried out on the marine simulator from 2012 in China.The assessment of BRM has been mainly based on manual evaluation,but its disadvantage is that the evaluation criteria is lack of objectivity and consistency.In order to eliminate the disadvantage of artificial judgment,automatic evaluation becomes the research direction of BRM assessment.Supporting by the research project of “Research and development of training and evaluation system of intelligent navigation simulator” of Jimei Marine Technology Research Institute,which commissioned by Quanzhou Maritime Bureau,this paper develops a set of automatic evaluation system of BRM.In the course of the study,closely around the BRM training content and evaluation norms,firstly,this paper uses the data collection method to analyse and summarize the training and assessment of BRM in China,describes the necessity and feasibility of evaluation automation.Secondly.based on the needs of the evaluation model,the scene is discretized,and the response action is analyzed and standardized by using the method of discussion.Next,takes out the important point to show to the assessment staff,so that the assessment model develops into "point" assessment from "face" assessment.Then we establish the evaluation model of BRM by using the survey method and analytic hierarchy process.Finally,based on the model,develop automatic evaluation system by using VC++ program,and achieve automatic evaluation of BRM skills by using the database management technology,then verify the applicability and rationality of automatic evaluation system through specific case test.
