The BIM-Based Construction Enterprise Bidding Management System

With the rapid development of the construction industry and computer technology, information technology in the architecture enterprises has been mature. Currently information management systems have become the core of the daily management of construction companies and support operation of whole enterprise. The traditional bidding system of construction companies have simple features,the systems’function is not closely linked with building information, and there is no accurate construction data so that building construction project bidding budget inaccurate.Traditional bidding system lacking technical updates,lead to the pace of development inconsistent with enterprises,and companies less competitive.The new BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology has rapid developed in China’s construction industry.Using BIM technology can show the various stages of building life cycle as digital model by 3D virtual simulation technology and provide the appropriate building product data to the professional staff,It is a process of design, construction and operation for the whole projects’ life cycle using building information model.Designing software and estimating software based on BIM technology can design the building information model and provide the appropriate building product data,they has reached a very high technological level,they improve work efficiency and become indispensable software tools for companies to develop the building which based on BIM technology.But in the process of building’s design, construction and operation need multiple software based on BIM technology,exist multi-project and multi-specialty’s data is difficult to be shared, exchange, centralized storage between different software, which leads to the presence of data streams between different stages of building life cycle. Nevertheless,the software based on BIM technology separated from business management of enterprise and there are inconsistent data format,unable to realize the data of construction acquisition,sharing and other issues between the building information model designed by design software based on BIM technology and company’s existing information management systems.Many construction companies are reluctant to abandon the existing information management system, which leads to the software based BIM technology has not been widely applied to various construction companies.This essay analysis and researches how to get building product data form building information model which according with IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) data standard,so that to provide accurate materials information for building bidding budget. This essay focuses on bidding management system based on BIM technology, it is BIM technology application’s studies further deepened, so that BIM technology can combine with bid management and project management of construction companies, The main contents are as follows:(1) This paper has studied BIM technology, IFC standard, IFC standard level framework, description language of IFC standard and storage structure of IFC standard file which describes building information model.And the system extracts building product data and accurate description of building materials information from building information model, and manages the data of BIM model.(2) Then this essay researches and analysis the traditional bid system that is used by a company now,in this essay the business process, system framework, function modules of traditional bidding system are designed.(3) Through researching and analyzing on the existing problems in the traditional bidding system,and this essay propose business process of the bidding system based on BIM technology, analyze the business needs of the system from two aspects of the total cost management and bidding budget, and complete research and design of the BIM-based bidding management system entire framework, BIM database, interface of BIM data extraction,the realization of each function module of the system.During research the bidding management system in construction industry based on BIM technology,complete the extraction of building product data and materials information of building information model by BIM data extract interface, has built a product information database based on IFC standard, realizes the integration of BIM data and business data,the BIM data can provide accurate construction engineering information to bidding management, and cost management, the system combine BIM technology and business of construction companies bidding budget, and it also solve the problems of inconsistent data format and tender budget unreasonable caused by no accurate construction data. In sum,bidding management system based on BIM technology is a management information system that is developed based on BIM technology and business management strategy. Using this system to manage enterprises’affairs not only changes the business model, but also controls the project information and the bid cost management reasonably. At the same time, it can improve the accuracy of construction bidding estimating, and ensure the interests of business Investment.
