The object of this essay is to focus on the packaging designs of commonly-used children’s drugs. Children’s health problems play an important role in modern society and families. With increased awareness of expenses today, the packaging designs of these regularly bought, OTC products, and the subsequent expense, should be of concern for all society.This article reviews the development of the packaging of drugs. It analyzes the present situation and development trends, and combines domestic and foreign design examples. It clearly identifies that packaging design must take into consideration the following: Children’s behavioural habits、Children’s physiological make-up and emotional concerns、The way children think. Packaging design must also provide for drug security, validity and stability. Packaging design needs to be compatible with the differing characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine, whilst integrating development trends. The design needs to incorporate a “human” concern as mentioned above, combining structure, color, graphics and the written word to reflect Chinese heritage. Traditional Chinese medicine packaging helps to disseminate Chinese civilization, and plays an important role in communicating this to the world. We need to combine Chinese characteristics innovative design both with Chinese historical features and current worldwide design trends.Innovative packaging commonly used medicines for children can accurately convey the drug information and brand spread positive energy and joy, humor, and warmth. To really impress consumers. Expanding market share, driving new consumer attitudes.
