The Design Of Children’s Activity Area In Botanical Garden Based On The Children’s Sensing Capability

Children’s growth has a significant effect in the future of our society, and children thrive on healthy environment. But the general current situation is that children in city are living in an artificial environment, invisible from the real nature. Besides, lack of creative is a serious problem within at present domestic design of children’s activity area in botanical garden. In order to construct a better edutainment space to bring children knowledge, interaction, happiness, this paper takes the development of children’s perception ability as main line, summarizes the children’s visual, tactile, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, perception, and any other characteristics. This paper analyses the change and development of children’s perception under different environment, studies the relationship between children’s perception characteristics and design elements of children’s activity area, based on this, the design method of children’s activity area in botanical garden was found, and then the children’s activity area in Shangqiu botanical garden was designed to verify the theory. After analysis, induction, combining theory with design practice, design method of children’s activity area in the botanical garden and experience are summarized, and some opinions and prospect are proposed.
