The Exploration Of The Scenario Of The Public Cemetery Space

The public cemetery mainly serves ordinary people,especially after it is endowed with the park’s functions and properties. The way the functions of the public cemetery is demonstrated is relatively material, but they should show one’s spirit and emotions more, namely the aspect of psychology. The space of an excellent public cemetery should provide a place for people to entrust their emotions, purity their mind and conduct meditation. However, due to people’s blind pursuit of commercial purposes and the impact of the utilitarian design idea, there is a huge gap between the space of many modern public cemeteries and the psychological demand of the public. The due spiritual resonance is also ignored or even buried by the utilitarian pursuit.Based on the relevant theories of space psychology,behaviorism and landscape design, this paper researches and discussed by focusing on the scenario of the public cemetery,attempting at putting forward solutions to the emotional loss existing in some public cemeteries based on the space elements.After analyzing the field of industrial product design and the public landscape architecture design in the broad sense,the author summarizes several design elements in the space media which can give participants psychological hints andinspire emotions in them. Through referring to relevant data and information and comparatively analyzing the typical cases,this paper summarizes the degree and method that various space elements influence people’s emotions, and the relationship between these elements. After that, this paper explores and discusses the theories closely related to the public cemetery,including Fengshui theory and the Oriental and Western vies of life and death. Then, based on that, this author summarizes the guiding principles for the scenario design of the public cemetery and discusses the direct influence method of the typical landscape elements in the public cemetery on people’s emotions. At last, this paper tests and improves the above theories through practicing them in Tangren Wanshou Garden.
