With the constant growth of the consumption of fossil energy, global energy crisis and environmental problems have become more and more prominent.Among various green renewable energy resources, solar energy has drawn the attention from the scientific domain of various countries due to its unique advantages such as unlimited storage, cleaness and safety, and easiness to obtain. This topic in widely refer to relevant technical data at home and abroad, on the basis of scientific literature, after in-depth research, adopting reasonable components, electronic technology to develop solar charger STC12C5204 AD based on single chip microcomputer as the core, the organic combination of single chip microcomputer technology and battery technology. Is a practical solar charger.This paper for the sealed maintenance-free lead-acid battery charged the structure, working principle, characteristics and related parameters of a three-stage chargers charging of sufficient research. Then is designed the solar charger for electric bicycle based on the single chip(STC12C5204AD). Detecting and judging the charger through the main circuit parameters such as voltage, current BUCK step-down, The MCU sends out control signal, input to the UC3843 chip. Through the comparison of UC3843 peripheral circuit of current, voltage, output corresponding duty ratio of PWM to control the MOS tube turn-on and turn-off time,to achieve three section type for battery charging.This design including the system hardware and software two parts. The hardware circuit mainly includes: BUCK step-down main circuit, a three-stage charging control circuit, single chip microcomputer minimum system circuit, digital tube display circuit and the design of the power supply Circuit. The design of the system software is completely in accordance with the method of structured programming, the entire program is subdivided into several sub program debug and inspection, and the use of C language so that the entire software development becomes simple, fast and easy to debug. The final application PROTEL99 mapped the schematic and PCB. After make physical, programming and burn. The designed charger can realize constant current, constant voltage of battery, floating a three-stage charging.
