This topic firstly introduces the basic concept, background, significance and current development situation of power demand side response. Then analysis mainly on the following three aspects:(1) Research on typical power load characteristics classification. According the actual power load curve to classify the power load user. In order to manage the power load better, the similar features of power load curve is divided into a class, but the different is divided into different classes. There are kinds of power load classification method based on the actual power load curve. This paper introduces several commonly used clustering algorithms. Consider of run time, classification effect, stability and so on, fuzzy C-means algorithm performance well. But the traditional fuzzy C-means algorithm cannot determine the clustering number automatically and fuzzy weighted index is given according to the experience. According to this, the fuzzy C-means algorithm is improved in this paper. and simulate and analysis it based on MATLAB platform.(2) Research on typical power load characteristics analysis. The power load characteristic analysis is benefit for grasping the load characteristics of each region and each user. It has great significance to load management, formulate demand response measures and load forecasting. Analyze the typical user power load characteristics of the public institution, commercial building and power-hungry industries. And analyze each type of the reclassify power load characteristics, preparing for the analysis and research of the electric power demand side response.(3) Research on power demand side response. Power demand side response is an effective measure for load management, optimizing the power of the user behavior and optimize the allocation resources. Combining the power demand side management theory and power demand side response theory, this paper analyzes all kinds of power demand response strategy, demand response efficiency and power demand side response project effect evaluation method. Then the typical power users demand response strategy and power demand side response effect evaluation method is analyzed. In the end, demand response of typical power users such as public institutions, commercial building and high power industries are studied.
