Systematized and advanced communications network occupies a vital role in the improvement and construction of intelligent substation. Real-time, reliable data network and complete standard for data communication is a priority to achieve to achieve intelligent substation. in particular IEC 61850(a standard for the design of electrical substation automation and system) provided a comprehensive specification for intelligent substance, and economize a lot of manpower, material and financial resources for late reconstruction and renovation.This dissertation chiefly explorer the IEC61850 specification’s implementation in the intelligent substation based on the communication network and its running status in construction intelligent substation. We hope to understand IEC61850 specification’s vital meaning in revolving in intelligentalizing substation, and completely elaborate IEC61850 specification in realizing intelligent substation on the level of how to communicate, simulate and setup entire station with SCD file via IEC 61850. In newly established intelligent transforming substation, IEC 61850 specification achieved a certain standardized constraint and to exemplify it with Dingxi xincheng substation.Based on a actual project, we introduced a detailed protocol in intelligentalizing data communication network in transforming substation-110kV and testify intelligent substation’s advantage over conventional substation. Designed by combining theory and practical cases, this projects Evidence shows that IEC61850 fully meet the demand of network providing Real time sampled values(sampled value, SV) and Generic object-oriented substation event(GOOSE) in constructing network space-switching model.From the aspect of intelligent substation’s design and construction, we can understand the influence of IEC61850 specification in much a rational way.Finally, this paper providing a reference value in designing and constructing new intelligent substation. There is a good pre-trial design reference form the perspective of data communication networks to analyze the construction of the entire smart substation. Meanwhile, case based study is able to help new or expanded substation. For a real-time Ethernet network via a new substation intelligent network provided certain reference value.
