The rapid development of electronic technology makes the development and application of network technology has undergone a qualitative leap. Particularly, Ethernet technology has been widely applied to many fields.With the rapid development of China’s railway industry, train communication technology has been rapid development. At the same time, the requirements the communication speed and bandwidth of train communication network are more and more. Therefore, how the introduction of industrial Ethernet technology in the train control network has become a focus of research in the domestic and foreign technical personnel.At the end of 2010, the International Electrotechnical Commission had published the "IECIEC61375-2-5" had become a new standard for the application of Ethernet technology in train communication network. It had defined industrial Ethernet in the train communication network as Ethernet Train Backbone (ETB).At present, it is new application field that the industrial Ethernet is applied to train communication network. So the industrial Ethernet can not completely replace the original train communication network. Aiming at the industrial Ethernet equipment can not directly issue communication connection with existing equipment of train communication network, in-depth study and research of communication protocol of train communication network and Ethernet in this paper. And basing on own internship company’s FPGA platform, designed the protocol conversion system between MVB communication based on EMD medium and Ethernet communication.The main work of this paper includes:Firstly, in this paper, it is analysed and researched the communication protocol of the second MVB device basing on EMD and ETB, and some related parameters are summarized.Secondly, according to those parameters, the thoreies of the test circuits of the MVB and ETB commuinication are analysed and researched. And according to the actural situation of the internship company, the final test circuits are confirmed.Thirdly, the application and design flow of FPGA are introduced in the internship company. Then the software and hardware design methods of the MVB and ETB communication protocol based on FPGA are illustrated. The designs of communication protocol transforming between the MVB and ETB are finished.Finally, the test and verify are done about the hardware circuit and the software on FPGA board in internship company.The verification test results show that the conversion between MVB communication protocol and Ethernet communication protocol can be conveniently realized with the FPGA platform. Therefore, the research of this paper has certain practical application value.
