China Standard EMU is the core of EMU standardization strategy which is put forward by the China Railway Corporation, and it has great significance to China high-speed EMU. The power of high-speed EMU is the key to achieving high-speed operation, which contains configuration and marshalling of traction power. Unit configuration of EMU traction power is a major foundation for designing the traction drive system. This paper selects 350km/h high-speed EMU as the research object, studies its unit configuration of traction power.This paper analyzes the current situation of EMU at home and abroad first, then explains the overall composition of EMU and its body structure. Taking 350km/h high-speed EMU as the research object, the paper discusses the core foundation in designing unit configuration of traction power-traction calculation, analyzes the generation and calculation of EMU traction force, running resistance and braking force, explains solutions of braking problem. Then designs unit configuration of traction power for 350km/h high-speed EMU, calculates the traction performance of vehicles with the design of its traction characteristics, obtains the dynamic drag ratio of its power configuration, and verifies its average acceleration residual acceleration、ramp starting capability、ramp rescue capability under 0-200km/h in straight channel, obtains whether the design of vehicle power can meet the design requirements.Next, the paper does research on unit configuration of EMU traction power, analyzes it by consulting large numbers of literature, sums up the reasonable principle of power configuration, compares distributed power EMU with centralized power EMU, all axles being powered EMU with partially powered EMU, determines the dynamic drag ratio and analyzes marshalling of the power unit. The paper provides reliable research thoughts for power configuration method of EMU in future through research.Finally, this paper introduces the self-design software for unit configuration of EMU traction power, which contains four modules:traction characteristics designing, parameter checking, power configuration and acceleration performance. The software can be applicable to various kinds of EMU, and provide reliable theoretical support for EMU in the design process.
