With the continuous advance of construction work, passenger dedicated line in China has entered the network operation period. In order to meet the rapid growth of passenger transport demand, the railway company must add train, thus increasing the EMU used car number. As EMU is quite expensive equipment, their purchase cost accounts for the proportion of passenger dedicated line investment is quite high. So we need to organize the EMU effectively and reasonable by using technical means, so as to reduce cost and increase benefit of passenger dedicated line. According to the EMU operation management situation at home and abroad, learning a lot from EMU Operation related achievements, this paper targeted study on the EMU Operation optimization problem under the condition of passenger dedicated line network formed in our country. Focusing on two sub problems, choosing the mode of EMU operation and management, optimization of EMU Operation Plan, this paper provides a theoretical basis to our country for networked operation of EMU at the tactical level.This paper first analyzes the characteristics of EMU Operation Problems after rail network formed. Then from seven aspects, such as line network, operation plans, rules of use, maintenance mechanism setting, it analysis the factors influence the efficiency of EMU using. Put forward by optimizing the two internal factors:EMU operation and management pattern, EMU operation plan, so as to realize the goal of emu optimized use. After analyzing different schemes of EMU operation and management modes, finally recommends use semi fixed operation mode and mixed management mode. According to the different levels of management, different operation order compiled using plan. Then considering the constraints such as repairing and maintenance ability, EMU Operation optimization model are established for fixed and not fixed of EMU operation modes. Learning from existing research methods, transform this problem into a multiple traveling salesman problem (MTSP), and then solve it by using the improved ant colony algorithm. Ended in Beijing-Shanghai & Shanghai-Hangzhou these two passenger line as an example, the solution was carried to verify.
