The combination of children’s thinking and intellectual development will be a major study trend for the design of children’s rooms in the future. Based on the thinking developmental psychology, child psychology, the history of children’s intellectual development, brain science and philosophy of dialectical materialism and other subjects, this paper mainly expresses the design of 3~6 year old preschool children’s rooms. Currently, some experts focus on the color, safety, environmental protection and lighting of the children’s rooms and etc, while other experts study it from the aspect of child psychology. According to child psychology, few children’s rooms are designed by aiming at the potential and intellectual development for children.Studies have shown that there are numerous critical periods in the process of the development of children. If some critical periods are missed, the future redevelopment will be limited, and even cause irreparable damage for the children. As we all know, everyone’s thinking, personality, preferences won’t change dramatically between 20~30 year old. However, there’re some great change before 20 years old. Based on a number of related disciplines, the paper explains the relevance between the children’s rooms and intellectual development, and expounds how to apply the theory into actual designs. Through the questionnaires, interviews and the other practical ways, I try to find out the expectations about children’s room design, and analyze the relevant data, in order to discover the existing problems and solve them.
