| China’s primary school building design started and developed relatively late,and the design strategy of public space of primary school building needs to be improved.According to the relevant theories of developmental psychology,environment plays a decisive role in the development of children’s mental health.In the primary school campus,the most important place for children’s daily activities and social behaviors is the public space of the building.Therefore,the design of public space should be closely combined with the characteristics of children’s psychological development.In China’s primary school buildings,the attention to the characteristics of psychological development is limited,and the public space of primary school buildings based on the development psychology is extremely lack,so how to improve the public space of primary school buildings,so that it can really meet the needs of children’s mental health development.The urgency of this matter is self-evident.This paper starts from the theory of developmental psychology,combines with developmental psychology to design the public space of primary school buildings,in order to stimulate and promote the thinking development and growth of early school-age children.This paper attempts to provide more reference for the construction of public space in primary school buildings which can really promote children’s thinking development and healthy growth.By studying the characteristics of thinking development of early school-age children,we find that the characteristics of thinking development gradually change with their age.Therefore,they are divided into three stages according to their age,which are 6-8 years old(lower grade),9-10 years old(middle grade)and 11-12 years old(higher grade).Low grade children’s thinking shows obvious intuition,visualization and non randomness;middle grade children’s thinking development is in a turning or critical period,and their thinking development is in the transition stage from visualization to abstraction;high grade children’s thinking has the characteristics of indirectness,abstraction and randomness.According to the characteristics of children’s thinking development in different stages and children’s space psychological needs,this paper puts forward different public space design principles and targeted strategies for low-,middle-,and high-grade children.And through Zhangjiakou City Road East Primary School design practice test. |
