Study On Rural Landscape Park Design Based On Landscape Character Assessment

In the process of rapid urbanization and economic development, many significant changes have taken place in the structure of land use in rural area, which result in the landscape fragmentation and the severe decrease both in the diversity of natural habitat and the ecological security. As the research object, the paper illustrates how rural landscape parks develop in domestic and international, as well as the distinction among the classification of Country Park, and put forwards that Chinese rural landscape should be made to comply with geographical and cultural conditions in local area, in order to build rural landscape parks with multifunction, so they are able to become the green lung of the region, the core of rural tourism. Based on the British countryside park, this paper has adopted the method of rural landscape feature evaluation practices to establish "rural landscape park based on landscape characteristics evaluation survey- assessment- planning" framework.The full text consists of six parts:Part I: description on the background, purpose, meaning and research methods.Part II: the definition of the relevant concepts, and elaborate history of the development in rural landscape park, as well as a brief introduction of landscape features evaluation system, as well as how landscape features assessment play a critical part in the ecology, aesthetics and conservation in countryside park area.Part III: Researches on rural landscape related theory, explaining the situation in the country and abroad, presenting the existing success cases to illustrate the advantages of accept the countryside landscape features assessment for the park.Part IV: This section is the core of the thesis. First, the landscape of rural scenery park resources evaluation system is fully described. Then, it presents the three steps of scenic-park planning and design which orients from the evaluation system of the rural landscape features: Survey- Assessment- Planning.Part V: South Park Village Four Seasons Flowers Park is taken as an example to further validate the conclusion in the previous part.Part VI: In the last part of the paper, the status quo of the basis of the rural landscape park is summarized and also explored for the future development pattern in countryside park.
