The Study Of Modern Architecture Phenomenon In Changchun And Taiwan Based On Cultural Diffusion Theory

As a important part of modern architecture history, Chinese modern architecture history has always been the the focus of the scholars.This paper aims to study the spread of Japanese modern architecture history in Taiwan and Changchun as well as its effects on architectural style in both places.From the history’s perspective, Taiwan is one of several first Japanese colonies, while Changchun is the capital of the puppet regime in Manchuria which underwent Manchuria Railway accessory and the puppet regime in Manchuria.Two places both experienced colonial domination of Japan, which leads to diversification of the two cities.This paper will find their connection through cross connection between architecture and communication and study the modern architecture history.This thesis researches from two aspects: firstly, analyze spreading procedure of architecture culture through communication theory and find out eff ects of culture diffusion on Changchun and Taiwan.Secondly, figure out connections and differences between the architectural styles in Changchun and Taiwan under the effects of Japanese cultural spreading. This paper is beneficial to understands what cultural spreading brings to formation and development of modern architectural style in Chinese colonies. This paper consists of 4 part.Part one introduces the origin of this topic, purpose and meaning of the research, research status and limitation of research scope, brief introduction of main contents and frame of the paper.Part two presents introduction of cultural communication and Cross cultural communication theory which is related to the topic. It also introduces its practice in the construction field and effects of modern culture to China.Part three gives the main background of the two conflicts in cultural communication in Changchun and Jilin and analyzes city planing the formation procedure through communication theory.Part four compares the architectural styles between Changchun and Taiwan by comparing the traditional style, western style and these two cities ’ styles. In then end, this part concludes feature of styles.
