With the continuous improvement of the level of industrialization, building construction technology is growing rapidly. It is an inevitable trend in the development of the building industry that the prefabricated building can be constructed in bulk and energy-efficiently to adapt to rapidly changing needs of society, which reflects the cooperation and division of labor in the construction of production, But the prefabricated building development in China is slow, especially the design approach still stick in the mud, which did not exactly match the assembly type construction. Based on the study of the theoretical basis of open building, the thesis analyses the features and design requirements for prefabricated building, and puts forward a kind of assembly design method both with the space adaptability and can adapt to future change, in order to further promote the development of prefabricated building on the design level. The thesis is divided into four chapters:The first chapter outlines the background and research status of the study, to clarify the object, purpose, procedure and methods of the thesis. The second chapter analyzes the current problems of prefabricated building and explores the causes of the whole story, to summarize the construction characteristics and design needs. The third chapter analyzes two typical cases to summarize the dialectical relation between building assembly and open building design, putting forward general assembly design strategies. The fourth chapter carries out an application design, then compares with the traditional design methods in aspect to the project level, with the aim to summarize the advantages and correct the deficiencies.
