Hydraulic excavator is the m ain construction machinery in the field of Earth-rock engineering. Working apparatus is one of the most important functional components of the hydraulic excavator, and the dyna mic properties of structure there of have significant impact on the working perform ance of the hydraulic excavator. Therefore, this article focuses on the working appa ratus of XUGONG XE 135 B excavator, and conducts the finite elem ent analysis for its structural property. The m ain research contents of the text are as followings:First, the article analyzes the using performance requirement and the design principle of the working apparatus of the excavator, and then suggests the com plete finite element analysis method for the working apparatus.Secondly, a three-dim ensional solid m odel of the com plete machine of excavator and the working apparatus thereof is finished in a three-dimensional modeling software Pro/E based on a graphic design drawing of the excavator. Then the geometrical model being built is imported into the f inite element software ANSYS, wherein the elem ent type and m aterial attribute is determ ined based on the practical situation, and the boundary cons traint condition of the m odel and the applying way of loading at the pin boring hole can be determined. Finally, the finite element model of the XE135 B excavator is established. In addition, five of the most dangerous working conditions of the work apparatus are conducted with statics analysis, modal analysis and transient elastodynamic analysis. According to the results of analyses, the static deflection and static stress of the working apparatus under the action of static load ar e both within the safety range, while the maximum value of the wave curve under the action of dynamic load does not go beyond the safety range either. According to th e results of the modal analysis, the model vibration and frequency ar e obtained, which provide re ference for preventing the vibration produced by the construction. Further, the swing arm under the m ost dangerous working condition is conducted with statics analysis, modal analysis, and the result verifies that the structural strength of the excavator s wing arm meets the design requirement, moreover, the inherent fre quency of the swing arm and the working frequency of the excavator will not cause the resonance phenomenon. The research of the working apparatus of the XE135 B excavator made throughout the text shows that it is an effective way to design and develop the lar ge engineering machinery by em ploying the m ethods of com puter-aided design the finite elem ent analysis, and the dynamics simulation method, which has great significance to im prove the design level of the excavator.
