As a kind of transporting machinery for the short distance, the forklift needs to use the clutch frequently during the entire process of starting, traveling and working. To simplify the operates and improve the security of vehicle, a research on several key technologies such as method of actuator, controlling tactics, the software and hardware of controller and so on is performed for electronic clutch of internal combustion counterbalanced forklift in this thesis. The main contents are as follows:Actuator system of electronic clutch, namely through driving the mechanism of worm gear and worm drive with DC motor as power supply to realize automatic clutch control actuator, is designed. The PWM modulation technique and closed loop timing control system based on location sensors are adopted to control the motor’s start-stop position effectively and satisfy the needs of the electronic clutch control system.The control strategies of the engaging and disengaging processes of forklift electronic clutch are provided. Firstly, the measuring method of clutch half joint and simultaneous point is proposed. Secondly, the method of stipulating the slipping work qualitatively by using the clutch engaging time, calculating the fastest clutch engaging speed quantitatively by using jerk is adopted to balance the evaluation indexes for estimating the clutch control performance, and then the clutch engaging speed at different stages are determined by using correction factor Finally, the total clutch engaging time is estimated.The hardware scheme using TMS320F2812 chip and power device IGBT as the central controller is proposed to simplify the volume of the controller and enhance the system reliability. The general program of forklift electronic clutch control system is completed based on the completion of programming during its starting and traveling.Using CPC30 internal combustion counterbalanced forklift as the target type, the vehicle road test results based on different working conditions suggest that the proposed forklift electronic clutch control system can meet the evaluation indexes of jerk and slipping work and achieve the goals of starting quickly, disengaging quickly and engaging smoothly under the circumstances of brake, shift gears and power outage during the operation process.
